We find that in today's time not to many of our folks are getting the due props they well deserve for the hardwork and achievements they have or are accomplishing in life. Quinnipiac University freshman guard Rob Monroe was named Northeast Conference men's basketball Rookie of the Week twice and back to back mind you. Monroe is currently first in the NEC in assist/turnover ratio (2.52/1). He also ranks first among freshmen in scoring with 11.9 points per game, assists (3.5 apg), three-point percentage (.410) and made three pointers (32). For the season, Monroe ranks fourth on the team in scoring. He also ranks 19th overall in the conference in that department. Before Quinnipiac: Played scholastically at St. Johns Prospect Hall (1996-1998) and Montrose Christian School (1998-2000) before spending last season as a postgraduate at the Berkshire (Mass.) School...Helped the Berkshire School squad to a 21-4 record last year and was named MVP of the Tri-State League, averaging 22.4 points, 7.2 assists and 3.1 steals per game ... As a sophomore in 1997-98, he was a member of the undefeated St. Johns team that won the national championship... In two seasons at Montrose Christian, he averaged 10 points, seven assists and 2.5 steals per contest.
